D1.3.1 - Functional requirements for e-SENSE Show CasesDescription of the deliverable content and purpose This document provides meaningful user and application requirements from a set of scenarios which are subsequently translated into technical requirements. This document is also the most up-to-date and complete description of the scenarios that are considered in e-SENSE through the three application spaces (Personal Application Space, Community Application Space and Industrial Application Space) that were described in deliverable D1.1.2 “Report on Architectural Vision”. There are twenty six scenarios considered and fully analysed in this document. In addition to providing user and application requirements, further objectives of this deliverable are:
The outcome of this analysis is a set of top level requirements, context and situation classification, and list of information and sensors required. As part of this analysis, the concept of Context Building Blocks (CBB) has been introduced. Figure 1 shows how we use CBB to derive key context types such as mood, location, environment and posture from available sensor data. Conversely, a CBB also defines the required sensor data to be able to determine a specific type of context. These requirements will be used as input for WP2 for the specification of the e-SENSE Architecture, for WP3 to specify the e-SENSE Connectivity, as well as a basis for WP4 to specify the e-SENSE Middleware.
